Katy Luker
French Horn and vocals

Katy Luker has played horn for over 16 years, and has loved every minute of it!

Katy started playing French horn during her freshman year of high school, when her director kindly asked her to switch from the flute. Misunderstanding him (she thought he said English horn), she begrudgingly agreed to switch when she realized that the quarterback of the JV football team also played horn. He dropped out of band the next year, but Katy persevered.

She was fortunate enough to be a 3 time All State participant  in choir, orchestra, and band during high school. She went on to attend the University of Arkansas. While there, she was active in the North Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, was principal horn in both the University's Wind Symphony and Symphony Orchestra, and was a member of the graduate woodwind quintet. Katy was awarded the Presser Scholarship, which is awarded, based on faculty nomination, to the outstanding rising Junior. She graduated in 2002, with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education.

Katy currently lives in Siloam Springs, AR, with her husband and 2 children. In addition to Naturally Brass, she performs with the Arkansas Philharmonic, the Ozark Mountain British Brass Band, the Fort Smith Symphony, and has played in the orchestra for lots of musicals, including How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, She Loves Me, Sweeney Todd, Once Upon a Mattress, Into the Woods, West Side Story, Damn Yankees, Oklahoma, and Bye Bye Birdie. She also appeared on stage in Guys and Dolls.
